Deer Park Event: Deanns Denim & Frizzled Lizard

Deanns Denim ๐Ÿ…

๐Ÿ… Champion Dog! Free adoption, spay/neuter, shots, training session, PG&J's membership, 3-year vaccines, lifetime license, harness & leash, starter food, 6 months heartworm prevention, and crate on request!

Our first pup of the day was the lovely Deanns Denim! She was patient with getting the harness on, jumped right into the car, and loved sticking her head out the window. Totally the highlight of her day.

When we first got there she was understandably overwhelmed, so we went on a run around the block to get away from the crowd for a moment and she adored it! Thankfully, quickly found the trick to get her to focus on me and relax, which turned out to be keep away with a squeaky toy!

She interacted with the people and kids without issue, and was curious about other dogs, but redirectable. We had a blast together! Unfortunately, she got overheated due to our run (my bad ๐Ÿ˜ญ) and had to take her back fairly quick to get her some cool air to relax in.

Frizzled Lizard

Next I scooped up Frizzled Lizard, who was one of the most well-mannered dogs I've had the pleasure of taking on a field trip! Patient and calm during harness-up (even when I fumbled it), hopped right into the car, and was a model passenger the whole ride.

At the event, he did wonderfully with people and kids. Even the toddlers who waddled over got a couple of gentle licks and he stole every parent's heart. Curious about other dogs, but easy to redirect, and hardly ever pulled on the leash.

Hard to tell if toys were just not his thing or if it was the overstimulation, but high quality treats did the trick. We worked on simple training commands to help him refocus when things got to be a lot, and he responded great. Picked up "lay" really quick after only a few confused "I'm sitting, why am I not getting the treat???"

Frizzled Lizard being a good boy

Overall, would recommend him for pretty much any event. Just an adorable and easy pup. Would make a perfect family dog!
